Can you resize a ring after it’s been purchased?

Probably — most of my sterling silver rings can be resized slightly, depending on the design.

Simple band rings and many open-style designs can usually be sized up or down. More intricate rings (like those with detailed bands, stones, or mixed metals) may not be resizable without risking damage.

If you’re curious if I can resize a ring, just reach out — send a photo or the ring name, and I can confirm whether resizing is possible.

What if I order the wrong size?

If your ring doesn’t fit quite right, please contact me within 7 days of delivery.

I’ll let you know if your piece can be resized and provide instructions for sending it back safely.

• Resizing fee: typically $40-$80, depending on the complexity.

• Return shipping: you’ll cover the cost to send it back; I’ll cover the cost to ship it home to you after resizing.

If resizing isn’t possible, I’m happy to discuss the possibility of making a similar piece for you.

How do I find my ring size before ordering?

The best way is to visit a local jeweler for an accurate measurement — they can quickly check your size using professional tools.

If that’s not an option, I offer ring sizers in my shop for a small cost, and they’re reusable for future orders.

Remember:

• Wider bands often fit a bit tighter.

• Your dominant hand can be about ½ size larger.

• Heat, cold, and time of day can change your finger size slightly!

Can you resize other jewelry (bracelets, cuffs, etc.)?

Cuffs can often be adjusted slightly for comfort — usually up to about ¼” either direction — but it’s best to let me know your wrist size when ordering so I can shape it perfectly from the start.

Necklaces and bracelets with chain can sometimes be shortened or lengthened; reach out and I’ll let you know what’s possible.

Do you resize jewelry from other makers?

Out of respect for the original artist (and to protect my tools and materials), I only resize or repair pieces made by Alena May Jewelry.
